The last few months have certainly gotten away from me, thats for sure. I doubt at this point anyone is reading this, but I will update anyways.
Lucas graduated kindergarten May 25, they had an adorable singing montage with all the kids, they got their diplomas etc.
Lucas has been mostly lazy since summer started, hanging out with Alyssa most days playing Wii, playing outside, watching movies, going to bed late and sleeping in (for him).
He has also done swimming lessons, tball, had his kid bday party at the Jumpyard, played with some of his school friends, gone to Kiddie Park, Swings n Things, playgrounds, campgrounds, and lots of swimming.
We spent way too much time in my opinion working on his summer homework, its best not to get me started, but long story short, he has not really learned these math facts yet, but had to do 23 practice tests by Aug 1, and they were SUPPOSED to be 2 minutes or less. We never got close to 2 minutes, it was ridiculous and mostly just frustrating for him and I. he still has two little book report like things to do, but those will be easy. he struggles with math, as I do, but reading has come very naturally for him.
The day after school Lucas had his endoscopy, which did show he had some ulceric lesions at the top of the small intestine that were healing at that point. he got tested for all kinds of bacteria as the source but all tests were negative. he is on his third month of 30 mg Prevacid, doing better, not completely better, but much better. They are only wanting him on the Prevacid til the end of this mont, so we shall see. I am still just hoping to get him to 40 lbs by the end of the year, I don't truly think he is eating any more since getting diagnosed.
He also had all the rest of his teeth work done, two crowns, a filling and a spacer where the tooth was pulled later, he makes sure to brush well so he does not have to get anymore cavities filled. My empty wallet thanks him.
He now has his first loose tooth that is hanging there by a thread but he will not let me pull it. The grown up tooth is almost all the way in behind it, I think he is trying to keep both teeth.
I sure have enjoyed my break of not having to pack lunches, do homework, or get him out of the house most mornings and what I consider sleeping in. I have gotten quite spoiled. But in 2 weeks time it will be time for school again where my big boy will be in the first grade. I can hardly believe it! I have all the school supplies ready, we have Curriculum night on the 18th and school starts the 22nd. Not to mention I have to keep all the stuff straight I have volunteered for this year. I have already helped at the Used Uniform Sale and I signed myself up for all kinds of fun and games.
Soon after that bowling season will begin and it will go just that fast.
In other news, I think I need to go back to school. I never enjoyed school, but I think I need other options. With Larry's hours being cut so badly and struggling so hard this past year, I feel like a major change needs to go on somewhere, things cannot stay the way they are. Couple that with the fact that I am unhappy currently at work, it just may be enough to light a fire under my lazy butt. I will keep you posted.
