Trophies and bowling balls

Lucas got a trophy for his last day of Tball lessons. he is very proud. I am glad he cannot read, they are leftover form Tball league 2008, it says so on the plaque haha, but that's okay : )

He also got his Star wars/Darth Vader bowling ball yesterday after class. Carter's mom Melissa had done all the legwork and had picked it up before Tball. Carter made Lucas close his eyes and told him he had a surprise for him. Lucas LOVES it, totally IN LOVE with the ball. It still needs its finger holes drilled, but he does not care, had to hold it in his lap on the way to get a hair cut, eat at Friendly's and until we got home. Cannot wait to take him bowling with it : )

1 More Week

Til we go to SC, thats all I am counting down to now, just looked at the 10 day forecast for Sumter SC. All low 80's its looking like so far. Hallelujah I am tired of winter and Cleveland's crappy spring. I want to be warm and wear shorts if only for a few days. I want our colds to dry up, I want to feel well.

Lucas's antibiotics are doing him well. Sniffles or "Snizzles" as he calls them, virtually gone, coughing near a halt as well. Then I got a note in our school mailbox this morning that someone in his class got diagnosed with Rotavirus, the nasty stomach bug. I will probably kill someone if him, or I or both of us get this and we cannot go to SC. Noone will want to know me then. So we will think 'happy thoughts' for the next week. Thank God Lucas only has to do one day at that disease filled daycare next week. I cannot wait til he goes to Kindergarten. Daycares are just so different than schools. Sure, its still kids, and they get sick, but it s just -different, noone really wants to agree with me on that one, but I believe its true.

My antibiotics are doing a so/so job. He gave me amoxcicyllin again, which normally does work for me, but I took it the last time and think a Zpak would have been a better choice. I still have a lot of congestion despite my diligence with taking the Claritin D that costs too much and they act like you are a criminal when you try to buy it, and my Nasonex. Plus, I am still real achy, and not sure why, aside from the constant sinus pressure and headache. I decided I will give it one more day, then if the dr wants to see me I can make an appt on my day off or they can switch the drugs up, whatever. I am getting used to feeling like shit again.

Lucas is getting his own bowling ball, a 6lb one for kids, with darth vader on it. Carter has his own Spiderman one, and Melissa can get us one discounted cause her other son Kyle spends so much time and money at the Brookgate Lanes. He does not know about it yet, he will LOVE it, and he is very excited about the bumper bowling league he will be in this summer with Carter. I know that will not lose its luster like Tball lessons did. We also decided on not even bothering with the basketball ones either. The Y wants to charge a 25.00 annual fee for those participating in programs but not being charged for their expensive membershp fee each month. And if he does not do anything else the whole year there, 74.00 for a basketball class for a three yr old just is not a good deal.

Larry instead put up a basketball hoop in the backyard that we had in attic storage for years, and we got Lucas a smaller "his size" basketball and he is happy. Works for us.

Very excited about Gramma gramma coming home this week, it feels like she has been gone for a year and we miss her, Lucas is asking for her everyday now. And we are so excited about going to visit Morgan.

Yay for Princesses

So glad our newest princess has joined the family! My new niece looks absolutely perfect and beautiful in all her glorious chunkiness. Too bad all we have are pics for now, but in less than 2 weeks I can hold her in my arms and I cannot wait : )

Seems that in the hospital setting, Princess Michaela has approved of her baby sister, Faith says. We will see how charmed with 'Baby" she is once she realizes mommy is bringing her home and she is staying. She may feel de-throned for a bit, but I have confidence she will do well. And she now has a lifelong friend that she will appreciate only half way til they are grown, I suppose. Ah, sibling love.

Lucas, our little prince of princes, also agrees that Morgan is "Aww, she is so cute" when he saw the pictures of her, and is glad that we can now go to SC, since he had proclaimed last week that "he was going to SC too, but we had to wait for Baby Morgan to come out of Aunt Faith's belly". He knows what's up, and he is excited.

8lbs 7oz and 20", the dr's asked Faith where she was hiding this baby and I did not think she would be that big at all. But Faith did a great job and Joe is keeping pictures in real time for us and its all wonderful. I think Morgan looks *exactly* like Faith did as a baby, there is no mistaking it. Now Faith and Joe each have a 'mini-me".

Yay for Princesses : )

Not better, but not worse

Lucas is still the same. Dr (not HIS dr) said it could be a sinus infection, but she wants to wait a few more days before giving him something to see if he clears up. His doc would have given me the pink stuff and sent me on my merry way so he could start getting better. So frustrating, lets wait and see how miserable he can get first, good idea, you bitch.

I am still very congested, but not feeling as terribly awful as I had been. Yay? I hope it just goes away, I do not feel like going to the dr for myself this week, too much to do

As of tonight, Alyssa will be staying with us til Sat, I hear she has a cold too, poor kid. She will fit right in with the rest of us at our house.

Tomorrow we are supposed to do something with Jill and the kids, but Emma has a nasty cough, so she has a dr appt, and it is all dependant on how everyone feels.

it is supposed to be nice for a few days, just enough to get us out again then be cold so we can get sick all over again.

if I had the energy it required, I COULD cry

Even though us constantly being sick is something I am used to, it still wears me down.

Larry was sick all week, since last weekend, well if he had stopped spending as much time as he has outside in the freezing weather, he may have gotten better. Of course its a given that he goes to Opening Day for the Indians every year, and of course this one turned into a 4 hour rain delaty, temps never got out of the 40's and he always stays for the whole thing. I give up.

He now has two red, irritated, oozing eyes I am praying Lucas and I do not catch. Me moreso, since I have contacts, and wearing glasses makes me dizzy, and this would cause me to not be able to wear the contacts and thus be screwed. Lucas should not get it or he will not be able to go to school til he has been treated for at least 24 hours with it. Larry is going to the dr this morning, at my insistence. I made the appt and told him he is going.

Lucas, aside form being stuffy and coughing for mos, seems to have gotten another cold, or it turned into a sinus infection, we shall see. I am trying to get him an appt for this evening. He tends to turn into sinus infections just like me, and I worry about his ears. he just does not feel well, which of course hurts my heart and weighs me down tremendously.

I now have a blocked up, sore ear, hurting scratchy throat and stuffy nose and feel lousy. AGAIN. I swear its every 4 weeks on the nose.

The weather keeps going up and down, people keep letting my kid play outside in this crap weather, and I cannot take much more til the weather gets nice. I want us to be well for SC.

Just spoke to the nurse and we have him an appt for 7pm tonight. I had to object to several dr's she tried giving me until I agreed on the person I liked second after his own dr Wilson

I am going to have to dissapoint the fans

Lucas is more than likely NOT going to play Tball games for the league this spring after all.

Reasons for this include:

He has really lost interest in his Tball class in general, he only wants to go each week to see Carter and to play with the basketballs

Carter is not doing it for the same reasons, and I KNOW lucas will not participate if Carter does not.

I am not spending 95.00 for the above reasons to occur.

8 weeks at the beginning of summer in the middle of every Sunday really can put a damper on other family fun IE Indians games, bday parties for friends, camping, the zoo, and other family fun things we can only do on a Sunday together, since that is the only full day of the week the three of us get to spend, if we choose to, together.

He is ONLY 3 yrs old, and the attention span is just not there, and we do not want this to be something Un-fun to him, he loves playing it in the backyard, and we want to keep it that way.

Since he is only 3 yrs old, he has the rest of his childhood/teenagerhood/adulthood to play Tball, baseball, whatever, if he wants to.

So, while this is not set in stone yet, we will probably just continue on with the basketball sessions that pick up on Thursdays where Tball leaves off, and he also may do the bowling league TH nights in the summer. He loves to bowl and it would be with Carter, so I know that would work out.

So, sorry folks, its too much money to make him do something he is not interested in at that depth this young in his life. I hope everyone forgives me, if not, too bad : )

Yay for 'stuff'

Not a lot going on, yet waiting for exciting things to happen.

Of course we are awaiting the newest Princess Morgan's arrival. I am predicting she will arrive between Wed and Fri this week. I hope anyways, and that she will look just like Faith. Only fair since Michaela looks just like her daddy and his whole family : )

Easter will be here Sunday. Lucas is anticipating his Easter Basket that I told him the Bunny will bring to him while he is sleeping Sat night and hide it, and he will have to find it.He is plenty old enough for finding the basket this year, that should be fun. We colored Easter eggs on Sunday. Another hit with the boy, he loves to have me open the container in the fridge so he can declare how beautiful they are : ) ( Pictures will be coming on that, have not loaded them on the computer yet)

We are getting excited about our SC trip at the end of the month to visit our new addition. Lucas knows he is going and the seasoned traveller that he is cannot wait! He loves SC and aunt Faith's house, the drive, everything about it.

Only a parent could be proud of the next milestone, but our stubborn boy is FINALLY consistently pooping on the potty like a big boy. Its been over a week now, so I want to say we have turned a corner with it. So very happy about that one, and he is really proud of himself as well.

Superheroes

I think little boys are hard wired to love and want to be Superheroes.

I had a conversation with a coworker about 6 mos ago about how her son who is now 6, started becoming obsessed with Spiderman at age 3. Lucas had not been too interested at that point, but was aware of Batman, Spiderman, loved the Incredibles m ovie etc.

Slowly over the last 6 mos though, it has been becoming more and more prevalent. He got Batman's batcave for Christmas, has started playing with the few Spiderman toys he has more and more.

Now he has Spiderman and Batman tennis shoes, and has been pretending he IS Spiderman and Batman lately.

he tells me what Batman and Robin do all the time, they are always doing something according to him.

All of a sudden he wants to watch The Incredibles all over again and again and he announced to me yesterday that " I AM a Superhero"

he is so cute, and has the best imagination, I love that little Superboy.

Full Moon

Which I believe is next week? Starts early sometimes. Lucas has been off the hook this week. Defiant, and not listening AT ALL. Fighting sleep, even when we let him sleep in our bed. its been a long week to say the least, cannot wait til his mood changes.

it was nice yesterday, however, to enjoy a sunny 70 degree day on my day off for once. We saw Faith and Michaela one more time before they go back to SC today : ( We had a lovely lunch and then to the Outlets and gramma-gramma spolied all three great grandbabies with some new summer clothes : )

Tball was a disaster yesterday, I think the nice weather had the kids all thrown off. it was chaos, noone paid a bit of attention to anything, poor Lucas got ran over when Carter and him collided while Carter had the helmet on, that lea d to tears, and before that he got his hand grazed by a flying ball and one kind of upside his little nose.

he really was more interested in playing basketball than tball yesterday, guess we do need to sign him up for the bball class that begins on thursday where tball ends

Note to self

No more allergy meds for Lucas. he reacts the same way I do to them-by not being able to sleep, unlike most people, but we always have to be different, don't we?

I know that he does not have a cold, but has had a consistent runny nose, mostly after having been outside, his voice got hoars the other day, I get that with my allergies as well, so I gave him some regular old benadryl, his eczema has been acting up too. Benadryl makes me hyper, not sleepy. Apparantly for him as well.

Couple that witht he fact he napped at school yesterday and we were up most of the night. He was wet, he was cold, he was thirsty his head hurt, you name it, he had it. I was nice, I was cranky, than angry, he finally went to sleep about 3:30am form being up at two and not faling asleep til maybe 10. he flipped and flopped, put his knees in my back, pushed me to one inch of bed left for myself, I coulda beat the darned kid.

I finally gave him more water and two tylenol meltaways for his 'headache' and then had to get up at 5:30.

Larry had the nerve to tell me I probably got a good nights sleep last night before he left for work thinking he took Lucas to bed at 8 for me. What he didn't know was that after he passed out, Lucas was right back downstairs to keep me company, and then up half the rest of the night, I almost slugged the poor guy

Oh well, better luck tonight, and never again will that boy get allergy meds
